- Pork Belly, 8 slices, paper-sliced
- Asparagus
- Winter Bamboo Shoots, 100g, pre-cooked
Condiments:
- Sesame Oil
- Soy Sauce
- Salt
- Cooking Sake
- Mirin
Garish:
- Romaine Lettuce
How to make:
Preparations:
Asparagus Pork Rolls
- Lay Pork Belly in a single layer on a chopping board. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
- Roll it up as tightly as you can.
Bamboo Shoots
- Cut the bamboo shoot into wedges.
- You can rinse off the gritty white substance in the bamboo shoot. If they don’t bother you, there’s no need to rinse it off.
Steps:
Asparagus Pork Rolls
- Pour vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook the rolls with their ends facing down.
- Turn the rolls over until browned.
- Repeat until all rolls are browned.
- Reduce the heat to low and add soy sauce, cooking sake, mirin and sugar in the pan.
- Turning the rolls frequently, until the rolls are cooked and the sauce has thickened.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Bamboo Shoots
- Heat oil over high heat and then place bamboo shoots in. Fry for 1 minute until slightly softened.
- Add sugar and sesame oil. Cover the lid and slow down the heat, simmer for another 4 minutes.
- Uncover and continue cooking for a while until the sauce are attached to the bamboo shoots.
