Easy Baked Mackerel

Ingredients:

  • Mackerel, 1pc
  • Lotus Roots, 2pcs
  • Konjac
  • Baby Pak Choi, 75g

Condiments:

  • Sesame Oil 
  • Salt and Black Pepper
Garnish:
  • Cherry Tomatoes 
  • Lettuces
  • Oba (Basil Leaves)
  • Beni Shōga (Red Pickled Ginger)
  • Sesame Seeds

How to make:


Preparations:

  1. If using the frozen mackerel, thaw before use.
  2. Clean and pull out any bones from the mackerel fillet using kitchen tweezers.

Steps:

  1. Add Olive oil evenly over the mackerel skin. 
  2. Season the fillet with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  3. Place mackerel fillets skin side up. Bake the fillets at preheated oven of 200°C for about 10 minutes, or until the skin starts to brown & crisp. 

Notes:

  1. Line baking tray with cooking paper for easy cleaning. 
  2. Serve with sliced lemon or a side condiment of grated daikon radish (Daikon oroshi).
